the tens of thousands of other model railroads. Realistic scenery and structures
can be the key. Although plastic model can look good, they are very expensive and
require a lot of detailing and weathering to hide the plastic look. These days
downloadable photo-realistic plans are proving increasingly popular with discerning
model railroaders. The good ones are inexpensive and can be built to a very high
standard using carboard, balsa, or foam board (corflute sheeting). Admittedly there
are some artifical ones around, but the ones featured on this page of all of the
highest photo-realistic quality.
